Under the hood, `lib/util/autonomy-gate.mjs` runs a small state machine (`idle → gates_on | auto_running → paused_for_gate → completed`), and `lib/stats/event-emit.mjs` records named lifecycle events (the main-merge gate and its answer, among others) to `trekexecute-stats.jsonl` in the plugin data directory. The new `hooks/scripts/post-compact-flush.mjs` PostCompact hook re-injects `.session-state.local.json` after context compaction so multi-session work survives a compaction boundary.
